Roundtable discussion: How can we best align graduate and employer needs? Session Chair Graduates and employers have very specific needs and requirements of each other. Identifying the overlaps in these needs, and finding the areas where the alignment between these two cohorts can be improved may result in increased geoscience student retention rates and increased student-to-geoscience professional transition rates. This roundtable aims to bring together students, graduates, early-career geoscientists and employers to discuss such issues surrounding employability, recruitment and retention. The session will start with a series of short, yet thought-provoking presentations by employers and early-career geoscientists, and then will transition into a set of discussion groups that will develop ideas for addressing these issues.
