Thematically, my specialisation is on religion; religious revivalism; consumer/material culture in a religious perspective; middle class; the transformation of modern forms of capitalism; food cultures; cultural globalisation and migration. After completing my master’s degree in 1997 I taught in the Department of Anthropology, University of Copenhagen, from 1998 to 1999. In connection with periods of fieldwork I have been attached to universities in Malaysia, Britain and Singapore.
